There are many consideration for manufactured homes insurance but the best news is that due to major improvements in construction and HUD standards, insurance rates for factory-built homes, which once were typically 20 percent higher than rates for site-built homes, are now considerably lower. Now, there isn't a great deal of difference in the rates.
Most insurance agents can either help you or lead you to where you need to go. And as your looking you will find there is a lot more to insurance than just the price. You will want to consider coverages,
limits, service, and the financial stability of the insurance company before you decide to buy.
Three basic insurance coverage you may want to consider are physical damage insurance, flood and earthquake insurance, and liability coverage. Sometimes credit life insurance will also give you peace-of-mind to protect your loved ones from being stuck with the mortgage if you die.
As for the appliances and functionality of the manufactured home, most manufacturers offer a warranty that covers the structure and factory-installed plumbing,
heating and electrical systems during a specified warranty period. In addition to written warranties, you may be protected by certain "implied warranties." An implied warranty is an unspoken, unwritten promise that a product is fit to be sold and used for it's intended purpose.
When you request an agent to contract you, you can normally expect a friendly and informed agent will call you to discuss what your mobile home policy coverages will include. They will ask about the home you want to insure including the year, make, model, length and width, and the name of your park, if you live in one. If your home is located somewhere other than your mailing address such as a winter home or summer home, they will need the address where it is located to quote for that area.
Insurance is one of those necessary things in life, and it does give you peace of mind.
